Respect Due: The Original THOR from Marvel Men!

Thor Vs. The Destroyer Part One (To Kill a Thunder God)

Props and Props Again to Stan Lee, Jack King Kirby (Yes if you have read more than 3 comic books KING is his middle name), Channel 11WPIX and every one associated with Marvel Super Heroes and The 1960's Spider Man Cartoons.

Thanks to you I spend hours and hours in suspended imagination watching the great stories you created.
I never really imagined seriously that Thor would fly across New York City to battle The Absorbing Man, but
I did envision myself one day writing and drawing adventures of my own super heroes and villains.

Any way as we get closer to the release date I decided I would share with those who know and don't know, this episode of Marvel Super Heroes where I first learned the tale of the Destroyer.

THOR! The Trailer!

Thor Movie Facts
Opens May 6th, 2011
Stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman
Directed By Kenneth Branagh

5 Things I Thought While Watching This Trailer

1. The first thing they tell you in "Writin School" is never start off with "It was a dark and stormy night."

2. WTH is that "Stringer Bell" as Heimdall and The Hunter? Can we get "Brother Muzzone" in the sequel?

3.The film makers some how got ASGARD right. I remember as a kid reading Thor comics, in my imagination how bright and shiny and BIG ...ASGARD would be. From the trailers they really use the CGI to get it right.

4. The film makers seem to have gotten the Thor Vs Odin part right as well. This movie would be ultra wrong if all the drama was caused by The Destroyer. When Stan Lee and Jack Kirby first presented Thor in the pages of the comic book Journey Into Mystery, the stories were even more about Thor's inter action with his father Odin than whatever monsters Thor would face. Fact is with Lee and Kirby's Thor...Most of the drama was between Thor, Odin and Thor's half brother Loki. Kudos to the people behind the Thor Movie for including that family strife dynamic.

5. My last thought was "No these Mother Freakers are not putting this out in 3 Mother Freakin D. Are there going to be giant ants in the Thor 2 Electric Boogie?" Well Thor opens May 6th, 2011. I will be seeing in it, hopefully just in plain two d . And please follow us here and on facebook.

Game Of Thrones: Episode One Review By Cheryl B. Sellers

Long Live The King!

And so it begins this Game of Thrones, the king is dead. I found the
first episode to be a little choppy.  That being said, I will say I did
enjoy it as a whole.  The scenes were beautifully filmed and the
costumes great.
As to why I found the episode choppy, too many characters introduced
in the one hour opening.  Not enough time spent in any kingdom, but
that I am sure will build over time.
What I did like was the fact that this was not played like Camelot,
this is darker than Camelot and much more complicated. Until you figure
out who is who, I suggest you don't try to do something else while you
are watching.  There Lots of characters, lots of kingdoms, lots of
intrigue, lots of violence, but it is all integrated in a story.
So for now I will give Game of Thrones a thumbs up, if not a bravo
yet.
WRITERS NOTE: The set up for the next episode was shocking… The ending this week
took me by surprise.

The Mortal Kombat Franchise Returns Today In Stores!

MORTAL KOMBAT & 19 YEARS OF FLAWLESS VICTORY !

Almost 20 years ago Mortal Kombat came onto the scene and along with Tekken has been the only video game franchise to effectively challenge Street Fighter in any way.

The original game was revolutionary in its use of special moves and fighting styles along with live actors. I remember dropping my first quarter in a MK machine at a night club in Philly and I been using Sub Zero to freeze butts and take names ever since.

My favorite MK since the original in 1992 has been MK2 for Super Ninetendo with its combination of new characters, great…funny finishing moves, friendships and babalities.

Today MK came full circle with the release of a brand new game simply called Mortal Kombat. This version gives us all the great characters like Lui Kang, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Raiden along with some newbies. We get the crazy in game moves and course The Fatalities that have made MK a barrel of fun and gore through the decades.

The game is available on the major platforms of Playstation 3 and X Box 360. You can purchase the single video game or for a few dollars more get the Ulmiate Mortal Kombat set that includes the new video game, The Art Of Mortal Kombat Book and 2 book end figurines of the ninja Scorpion and Sub Zero.

ABOUT STAKELAND
America is a lost nation. When an epidemic of vampirism strikes, humans find themselves on the run from vicious, feral beasts. Cities are tombs and survivors cling together in rural pockets, fearful of nightfall. When his family is slaughtered, young Martin (Gossip Girl's Connor Paolo) is taken under the wing of a grizzled, wayward hunter (In the Cut's Nick Damici) whose new prey are the undead.

Simply known as Mister, the vampire stalker takes Martin on a journey through the locked-down towns of America's heartland, searching for a better place while taking down any bloodsuckers that cross their path. Along the way they recruit fellow travellers, including a nun (Kelly McGillis) who is caught in a crisis of faith when her followers turn into ravenous beasts. This ragtag family unit cautiously moves north, avoiding major thoroughfares that have been seized by The Brethren, a fundamentalist militia headed by Jebedia Loven (Tony award-winning actor Michael Cerveris) that interprets the plague as the Lord's work.

Director Jim Mickle first grabbed the attention of horror film fans with his zombie-rat thriller Mulberry Street, in which Damici also starred and served as co-writer. They have teamed up again to deliver an even darker and bloodier shocker. Drawing on the post-apocalyptic frenzy described by Richard Matheson (author of the novel I Am Legend) and George Romero, Stake Land is a road movie with fangs and  a phantasmagoric journey.

Stake Land also stars horror movie icon Danielle Harris (Hatchet II) and was produced by indie horror producer-writer-director Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter).
